Cole - Class of 2016 | {Brownsburg Senior Photographer} {Indianapolis Senior Photographer}
It may have been a while since you've seen any Seniors from me, but when it comes to Seniors, we've still got it!! grin emoticon And this guy helped us prove it! What a fun session! It may have been summer, but it sure was a chilly day. However, that didn't stop us from getting some fantastic images of this Class of 2016 Senior! Check him out!

Kylie - Class of 2015 | {Brownsburg Senior Photographer} {Indianapolis Senior Photographer}
As you can see, I recently photographed a stunning Senior girl. Kylie is the younger sister of a previous Senior that I photographed three years ago. Her older sister had come up with a lot of fun ideas for her session and it was really creative and cool. So, needless to say, I was fully expecting Kylie's session to be nothing short of that. And she most definitely lived up to my expectations! She had all kinds of great ideas for what she wanted to do and both of her parents were there the whole time, helping with all the details and basically just being awesome. What a great family they are!! And clearly, the gorgeous gene runs in their family!!

Cami - Class of 2015 | {Brownsburg Senior Photographer} {Indianapolis Senior Photographer}
I had a great time today with this lovely high school senior! I did Senior Portraits for both of her older sisters, so I was excited to get to photograph her, too, since she is last one to be graduating in their family. It's been fun getting to go through the process with each of them. And each has been just gorgeous, inside and out. Cami is a dancer and has been dancing since she was a toddler. She also loves acting and actually went straight to an audition right after our session! She is happy and friendly, sweet and intelligent.....it's refreshing to see that there are still gals like her coming out of high school. Having a daughter myself, I worry about how hard school is for kids these days, especially with the whole "mean girl" thing. But girls like Cami give me lots of reassurance that it's still possible to turn out great, despite all the yuck in the world. And I don't want to forget to say congratulations to her mom, as well, for raising three beautiful girls into three amazing adults!!

Chris - Class of 2015 | {Brownsburg Senior Photographer} {Indianapolis Senior Photographer}
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Chris. He is the youngest of three boys and I have photographed both of his older brothers previously for their senior portraits, as well. So it was fun to have the opportunity to do senior portraits for the last of these three young men. They each have unique personalities, for sure. Chris was clearly the more quiet type around people he doesn't really know, but it was also pretty obvious that he can cut up and laugh around friends and family. I did get to see a glimpse of that side a few times, when his mom was trying to get him to smile. :) He was super easy to work with, as were both of his brothers. I have enjoyed each of their sessions so much!

Kara's Senior Session
Ha!! When I think of Kara's session, I can't help but smile and laugh. Her session was originally scheduled for a Saturday morning/afternoon. We headed out to get the fun started and found ourselves at our first location. My lovely model, Kara, looked gorgeous and her hair was straight out of a magazine. Everything was going great for about the first ten minutes and then.....rain! And I am not talking about a light drizzle....oh no. I am referring to a pouring-buckets-drench-you-to-the-bone-soak-you-completely-from-head-to-toe-in-roughly-9-seconds kind of rain!! And there was almost no time to run for cover!! It came on so quickly that there was no avoiding it. We had to grab our stuff and get out of there!! And sweet Kara immediately went over and grabbed my camera bag, trying to help us out, and I looked at her and said, "Save the hair!!" so that she would run as fast as she could to her car! And I grabbed the bag and ran like crazy to the car! The reason it makes me laugh is that I keep picturing my assistant (my lovely mom) running for cover along side me and then trying frantically to get her light stand down and in the back of my car. I had opened the hatch and unlocked the doors remotely while we were running. Since I had my camera in hand, I jumped as quickly as I could into the front seat to avoid having it ruined by the rain. That's when I realized that my mom was struggling to get her gear in and I turned around in my seat to see her getting more and more soaked by the second. And for some reason, all I could do was laugh....hysterically!! I couldn't stop!! I laughed until I was almost crying. And despite being stuck in the rain, my mom was laughing, too!! Fortunately, we had conveniently brought along a couple of towels in preparation for the anticipated "trash the dress" portion of the session. Needless to say, Kara's session was postponed and rescheduled for the following Tuesday. After all that, it actually seemed to turn out for the best though, because the second session day ended up being absolutely beautiful and Kara totally rocked her session!! Check her out!!
Here is the Sneak Peek!!
This is from the first day, just before the downpour!
And then this one is from our second day....beautiful!

Isaac's Senior Session
I feel blessed and lucky to have been able to work with this family again. Isaac is the third (and final) member of their family to be graduating from high school. I did senior portraits for both of his older sisters, and now it was finally his turn. I actually attribute much of my early success to his older sister because they were my very first, real paying customer that wasn't either related to me or a friend of the family. She was fantastic to work with and her portraits were stunning, which lead others to come to me. And then I was excited to work with their younger daughter, a couple years later. She, too, did such a fantastic job and her portraits were gorgeous. Both of their sessions were so fun and we laughed a LOT! Now, five years after I started working with them, their family stuck with me and I was able to finish out their high school graduates with Isaac's session. And much like his sisters before him, he was really great to work with and we had a blast on his session. And it's no mystery that good genes run in the family, as they all look amazing and are wonderfully photogenic!! His sisters and his mom all came along with him, so of course there was no shortage of laughs!! And Isaac and his family are very close, so they were able to bring the real, genuine smiles out of him with ease. I just love their family!! Most definitely three of my very favorite sessions ever have come from this one fabulous family. :)

Quentin's Senior Session
So much fun!! Quentin's Senior session rocked!! (literally!) I knew he wanted to include his guitar in his session and I was, of course, on board with that idea. His mom had even mentioned his "studio" when we talked on the phone. However, I was not expecting it to be nearly as cool as it was!! This guy has a ton of guitars and equipment, much of which he built himself! And he is really talented! He plays multiple instruments and even writes some of his own music! I was very impressed! And anytime I have a session with a Senior guy, I always expect that they will be a little less interested than the ladies are. But Quentin did a great job of staying involved and interested, and I'm thinking it's because he is a fellow artistic, creative thinker. And I really enjoyed his mom and sister coming along with us....they really reminded me of how my mom and I are together. What a great family!!

Paige's Senior Session
What a sweet family!! I was so happy to arrive at Paige's house to such a warm welcome! And then we got right down to business and Paige showed me all her outfits. Loved them all!!! Felt like maybe I should keep a couple of her shirts for myself! ;) And then we headed out for what turned out to be a really fun evening session with big plans for a sunset finish, which we nearly missed! But we chased the sunset, literally, and were able to capture a few last shots as the sun dropped out of sight. Paige was fantastic, as was my temporary new second assistant, her younger sister. What a good helper she was!! :)

Chloe's Senior Session
It's nearly time to say goodbye to the Class of 2013 Seniors as they head into their next journey, and to welcome the incoming class that will be graduating next Spring. Chloe is one of those students that will be going into her final year of high school this fall and graduating with the Class of 2014. She was such a sweet gal and was so easy to work with! And despite the unseasonably cold day that we had, she was a trooper and toughed it out with no problems! She is also another one of those lucky gals whose eyes just sparkle and change color depending on their outfits. Look how pretty those blue eyes are!

Emily's Senior Session
Being that this afternoon was forecast to be one of the warmest of the year thus far, I completely expected it to be that way. But given the fact that we got a relatively early start at 10am today, that did not exactly happen until toward the end of our session. However, despite the cold, windy conditions early on, we pushed on through and made it happen. And that was much easier having Emily as my subject today! Talk about energy, excitement, and enthusiasm. This gal had it all! She was really great at just jumping right in at each location and feeling out some fantastic poses for herself. It was almost like she was on auto-pilot! I absolutely loved her outgoing personality and her willingness to dive into each place, dirt and all!! And the fact that she was completely gorgeous didn't hurt! Check her out!

She's baaaack! :)
Meet Ariel....again! :) This gorgeous gal was actually my first official high school senior that wasn't a relative or the friend of a relative. As a photographer, in the beginning, I worried about not getting enough good images. I didn't have the confidence, then, to rely on my knowledge and skill, and I frequently doubted myself. Because of that, I would shoot....and shoot....and shoot. I think Ariel's high school senior session was about 7 hours long and I'm not even exaggerating! And luckily for me, she just rolled with it and looked stunning the entire time. We ended up with amazing images of her and I have always thought that she is partly to thank for my success since then. People saw the photos of her and contacted me for their sessions. And now we fast forward to the present and she is graduating again, this time from college. When she contacted me for senior portraits again, it was unexpected, but definitely a good surprise! Our session was not 7 hours long this time, not even close! But in true Ariel fashion, she looked as stunning as ever! Congratulations, Ariel!! Wishing you all the best in whatever lies ahead of you!! :)

Kyle's Senior Session
Every year, as Fall turns cold and my busy Senior season winds down with the colder temps and the holidays approaching, I give myself some time off to focus on my family. And today's session was a fun way to close this season and go into hibernation for the winter! I definitely enjoyed Kyle's session! Upon first meeting him, I wasn't sure if he would be able to get comfortable in front of my lens. I know most guys tend to have a harder time just letting loose and being themselves. But Kyle was somehow able to just relax and go with the flow for me and I was so glad he did!! We ended up with some really great images!! Check him out!

Macy's Senior Session
WOW. Just...wow. The wind was completely insane today!! Talk about not your ideal day for a session! Although the temperature was fantastic, the wind was like an annoying little kid that just won't leave you alone!! My hair was one giant tangle by the end of the session. But somehow, Macy's hair just kept looking better and better! Not sure how that was even possible, but I witnessed it with my own eyes, so I know it happened!! And yes, I know we could have always rescheduled and perhaps had a less windy day. But then we also could have been stuck with a dark, dreary day, rain, or freezing cold temperatures. Indiana is just so unpredictable! So we thought it best to just go for it and see what we get. And I think it was a good choice! Macy and her super-wind-resistant-magic hair did just fine!! What an adorable gal she is, this one. A petite little model complete with poses from her own inner modeling handbook!! Love it!!

Holly's Senior Session
Another beautiful day made for another great Senior Session. And today's Senior gal, Holly, was fantastic! She is a dancer so, needless to say, she made my job easy with poses and such. And from the minute we got to her house and I saw the outfits she was bringing, I knew we were going to get some cool shots! She had one outfit in particular that I could have just kept her in the whole time and been totally satisfied with that because she looked so amazing in it! But obviously that wouldn't have made for much variety for her, so of course I couldn't do that. Plus, she had other really cute outfits that we needed to use. But check out my favorite outfit....doesn't she look GORGEOUS??? (ps...I am scheduling an appointment to have my legs traded for hers!! lol)

Tori's Senior Session
Finally, a cooler summer day! The temps have been scorching hot all summer, so it was a wonderful thing for us not to be melting the whole time!! That left us to just enjoy the session and that's what we did!! Tori was a trooper!! She was ready and willing to go anywhere and do anything, and I thought that was AWESOME! She sat in dirt, walked in a creek, climbed some rocks, and posed in what looked to be poison ivy!!! And she was so easily posed it was ridiculous!! I typically try not to overly pose anyone, but rather give them light suggestions. Sometimes that isn't quite enough, but for Tori, that was definitely all she needed. And a lot of the time, she didn't even need that!! And don't even get me started on her eyes! I think they were two or three different colors during our shoot...very piercing and pretty! What a great session!!
