Messoroch Family Session

A few days ago, I had the pleasure of shooting this lovely little family again.  I have known Dannielle for a long time, as she and I went to college together many years ago.  They are always fun to be around, and their little guy is spunky and packed full of energy.  In fact, it was nearly impossible for me to catch him in a good photo this time around!  He was in full explorer mode and was busy checking out everything thing around him....everything but me and my camera!  LOL  But luckily we did manage to get some good family portraits, so all in all it was a success!  :)

Here is a Sneak Peek!

Dillon's Senior Session

In a word....WINDY!  Whew!  From inside, it looked like a beautiful, sunny Fall day.  But going outside, we quickly realized that we were going to be dealing with strong wind the whole time.  It didn't really matter, though, because we still got a ton of great photos!  Dillon is the younger brother of one of my former seniors and I knew before we even started that we would get lots of good stuff so I wasn't worried!  And just as we did with his older brother's session, we got lucky and had an abundance of Fall color, even this late in the season!  Dillon was really easy to work with!  And fortunately for us, his lovely mom also came along and she was a big help in fixing little things and making sure that no one blew away!  Overall, a really great session!

Michael's Senior Session

We started today's session out thinking the weather was perfect....sunny, mild...wonderfully autumn.   Once we had been out there for a little while, though, we realized just how chilly it actually was.  But, as always, we still managed to really enjoy ourselves and get some great shots of our senior!!  I was impressed that, even though Michael came by himself, he really wasn't too nervous or awkward.  Usually guys tend to take a bit longer to warm up since they typically don't enjoy having pictures taken as much as the gals do.  But he did a great job of being involved and even had ideas of his own for us to try!  Gotta love that!  Turned out to be a very fun session!!

Birthday Cake

My baby girl's first birthday party fell on the day before her actual birthday, so we decided to give her a little more cake on her actual birthday so that we could capture that in a portrait.  And while she seemed to love the cake, it appears that she is a lot like her momma when it comes to being a neat eater.  She barely got messy at all so there were no crazy cake face photos.  However, she looked absolutely adorable eating her cake neatly so that is just as good!  :)  Love her to pieces!

Stephanie's Senior Session

Stephanie's session was so fun!  Both her mom and her dad, who is a relative of ours, came along with us, so there was a certain level of comfort from the get go since we already knew them.  That helped to create a relaxed session very quickly.  And I always love working with people that are pretty much open to anything!  Those sessions are my favorite because I get to customize everything we do to suit my style and the style of the individual I'm shooting.  Stephanie started out a bit nervous and shy but she definitely got into as we went along and before I knew it she was posing herself and working it!  Toward the end we were just having a great time and laughing a LOT!!  Oh, one thing you will definitely notice about Stephanie are her eyes...they are amazing!!

Her 1st Birthday party!

As hard as it is for me to believe, Olivia's first birthday party has come and gone!  It's definitely bittersweet for me because, of course, I love seeing her grow and learn and become her own tiny person....but at the same time, I want to keep her my little baby girl forever.  I had worried a bit that she might shy away from all the people and that she might not enjoy her day or let others enjoy her.  But thankfully that was not the case!  Olivia was shy for about 5 minutes and then after that she was just excited.....excited about the balloons....excited about the other children....excited about talking to people and waving to them....excited about her new toys.....and did I mention excited about the balloons?  lol  I was such a proud mommy today.  I am always proud of everything she does, but today she just really blew me away.  She's so little and yet her personality can fill a room and she is just so smart and funny and perfect.  Okay, okay...so I'm gushing over my kid.  I'll stop.  But not before I say one more thing to the person who made this day a possibility for us.  To our sweet and wonderful Chey, our surry and our very own angel...thank you so much for making the most amazing choice to help us become our own little family.   Seems like such a short time ago when we were so anxious to see that positive pregnancy test...and now here we are watching our sweet little miracle baby celebrating her first birthday.  What an absolutely amazing journey it's been.  Okay, enough with the mushy stuff....check out her birthday cake!!  We had an owl theme and her cake was an extra adorable owl sitting on its nest.  LOVE!!!!

Megan's Senior Session

Pretty much everyone that knows me knows that I *LOVE* October and everything about it!  I love the weather...I love the Fall colors...I love Halloween...I love the creepy moon in the night sky and the gorgeous sunsets....I even think October has its own wonderful smell!  And Megan's session today was a perfect example of why October is so amazing.  The weather was great and we had some of the most beautiful light today, especially from the setting sun this evening.  Megan and her mom (and little sis) were so fun!  I always love a good sense of humor because I love to laugh and I definitely had such a good time with them!  And the fact that Megan was totally able to "work it" just made it a fantastic session.  Did I mention that the sunset was GORGEOUS????  So glad you chose an evening session, Megan!!  :)

Rachel's Senior Session

Had a fantastic session with Rachel over the weekend!  She started out like many do, saying she was unsure and feeling awkward...but that didn't last more than a few minutes and then her inner model took over!  :)  One thing I really liked about Rachel was that she has her own unique sense of style.....oh, and her love of accessories!  She actually kept reminding me of a certain actress that you've probably seen in movies or on tv....I won't say who....but can you figure it out?

Nope, it isn't possible!!!

How can my itty bitty be 11 months old already??  I feel like I just brought her home last month and now she's walking and talking and growing and changing by the minute!!  I don't care how much you might think you know about what it is going to be like to have kids or what parenting will be like...(I thought I had a really good idea about all that)...it's nothing like you ever expected!  It's WAAAAAAAY more amazing and life-changing than anything you could ever dream!  It's an unimaginable connection to another human being, deeper than any connection you have ever had.  To all those new mommies out there, expectant mommies, and hopeful future mommies....make sure you do plenty of cardio exercise now because your heart will be put to the test with your baby.  You'll think it's going to explode when you look into that little face because the joy is so overwhelming.  And just when you think you can't possibly fit any more love in your heart because it's so full already....a whole new space opens up and that little baby will fill every bit of it with love you never knew was possible.  Everything that was so urgent and important before will seem suddenly less pressing as your world starts turning around this tiny, brand new person.  Every thought in your brain, no matter what the topic, will have a little bit (or a lot) of baby in it.  And you won't even mind that you can't concentrate when he/she is in the room because there is nothing you'd rather focus on anyway.  All of life's "little things" finally become little and your perspective on life and love and the world is completely changed.

To my sweet little Olivia....your birthday next month will mark one year from the moment that I first looked into your eyes, held your tiny hands, counted your sweet little toes, kissed your wrinkled forehead, and fell head over heels in love with you.  You are one of God's most perfect miracles for sure, delivered directly from an angel.  Mommy loves you so much more than you will ever know.

Jim's Senior Session

My face hurts from laughing so much!  :)  Jim's session was really fun!  He started by telling me that he was nervous about not being able to pose and I told him that would be no problem....and then I spent the rest of his session being absolutely right!  He did a fantastic job!!  Told ya so!  And for added spunk, he brought his girlfriend, Emily, along and she was hilarious!  What a cute couple!

Taylor's Senior Session

STUNNING!!  That's it in a nutshell!  Taylor blew me away on her session!  She has these piercing blue eyes and her gorgeous dark hair....and she's just photogenic like it's her job!!  AND....this gal planned out her whole session, start to finish!  She had a vision for every outfit and I completely agreed with her choices.  She definitely has a natural eye for what works well visually.  That doesn't happen as often as you might think so I was very impressed!!  I really had a great time working with her and her family!

Chloe's Senior Session

Tonight's session with Chloe was really fun!  She is the younger sister of one of my past Seniors so I had already met her briefly before.  But I had no idea she would be bursting with such a fun, outgoing personality!!  I have worked with a few Seniors that are involved in the theater and every one of them has been so relaxed and comfortable in front of my lens....so I LOVE that!  And Chloe is just a spunky, confident, pretty gal anyway.....all qualities that make for a fantastic portrait session!  Plus she brought two of her best friends along and one was able to stay for the whole session and she ended up being a big help!

Alison's Senior Session

This past weekend I had a really fun Senior Session with Alison.  We got off to a bumpy start (all my fault)...I had forgotten a critical piece of equipment and then we had a battery issue...(they were dead!).  But we worked all that stuff out pretty easily thanks to my hubby and Alison's mom...and then away we went on a super fun session.  Alison was so good at working it in front of the camera and she didn't seem to have any nervousness at all which made everything just fun and easy!
