Baby Evan | {Brownsburg & Indianapolis Newborn Photographer}

What a blissfully sound sleeper this adorable little guy was today!!  And actually, for a little guy he is really not so little.  He was 9lbs, 6oz of 100% pure, sleepy, squishy baby cuteness!!  ANNND.... something my fellow photogs can appreciate....this lil' man slept the ENTIRE time with no breaks and never had a single potty accident.  Ever since shooting my first newborn portrait session, I have basically been telling my clients that it's pretty impossible to have an accident free session, because I wanted them to know that it's okay when that happens.  It always happens.  It's kind of a given with a naked newborn!!  But now that this little guy came along and behaved like quite the little gentleman, I feel like a big old liar pants!  Apparently, once in a blue moon, there might come along a baby that doesn't make at least a little dirty laundry for me!!  And with that, folks, I've pretty much seen it all!!  By the way, did you see those precious little lips and that amazing head of hair?  It's just too much to take!  :)

Love this shot with big brother!!  So sweet!

Barnes Family Session

Has it really been that long?  I photographed this lovely family once before, but did not realize just how long ago it was.  Turns out that my previous session with them was actually about five years ago!!  And my, how so much has changed for them in the last five years.  At that time, there were only 3 little grandchildren.  Now, fast forward to there being 5 grandchildren...four adorable boys and a beautiful new baby girl.  They were all so easy to work with, too.  And believe me, as a photographer who always gets a little stressed about shooting large groups, especially when young children are involved, this session was super smooth and easy!  Happy photographer, here!   :)

First, a flash back to the session we did 5 years ago...

And here is their new family portrait, complete with a couple extra little faces!

Lainey & Lila | {Brownsburg & Indianapolis Newborn Photographer}

Today I had the pleasure of photographing my very first newborn TWIN portrait session!  And I was thrilled to have two tiny, identical, eleven day old twin girls as my subjects.  And my, oh, my were they precious!!  It was completely double cuteness overload for me!!!  They tried as hard as they could to stay awake, but in the end, mommy's milk teamed up with sleepy time and both little fighters gave in.  And then it was baby girl model mayhem!!  :) They were so adorable that I asked if I could keep one.  (I didn't want to sound too selfish asking for both! Haha!)  Brace yourself for the cuteness from this session!  :)

Chloe's Senior Session

It's nearly time to say goodbye to the Class of 2013 Seniors as they head into their next journey, and to welcome the incoming class that will be graduating next Spring.  Chloe is one of those students that will be going into her final year of high school this fall and graduating with the Class of 2014.  She was such a sweet gal and was so easy to work with!  And despite the unseasonably cold day that we had, she was a trooper and toughed it out with no problems!  She is also another one of those lucky gals whose eyes just sparkle and change color depending on their outfits.  Look how pretty those blue eyes are!

One of my absolute favorite portrait subjects are newborns!!  I am always honored when someone invites me to photograph their brand new baby and allows me to be a part of that special time in their family where they are welcoming this tiny, new person into their lives and just getting to know their sweet baby.  How special is that!  And I have always loved being around babies, holding them and just watching them sleep and move.  So photographing their tiny features is so much fun for me.  Little Dane was such a treat to hang out with during his newborn portrait session.  He was so sleepy and peaceful, and he stayed really settled the whole time I was working with him.  What a little sweetie!  And so VERY adorable, on top of that!  :)

Emily's Senior Session

Being that this afternoon was forecast to be one of the warmest of the year thus far, I completely expected it to be that way.  But given the fact that we got a relatively early start at 10am today, that did not exactly happen until toward the end of our session.  However, despite the cold, windy conditions early on, we pushed on through and made it happen.  And that was much easier having Emily as my subject today!  Talk about energy, excitement, and enthusiasm.  This gal had it all!  She was really great at just jumping right in at each location and feeling out some fantastic poses for herself.  It was almost like she was on auto-pilot!  I absolutely loved her outgoing personality and her willingness to dive into each place, dirt and all!!  And the fact that she was completely gorgeous didn't hurt!  Check her out!

My girl is getting so big!

We recently hit a huge milestone with our baby girl....she is now potty trained!!  The days of diapers are over for her now and it doesn't seem possible that she is getting so big.  To reward her and celebrate her success with the potty training, we ordered her a "big girl cake."  She was so excited to see it and taste it.  And she is definitely proud of her accomplishment, as she tells us often now that diapers are for babies and she is a big girl.  I kind of dread the day she learns to tie her shoes because then she won't need her mommy anymore!  So hard to let my little girl grow up!

She's baaaack! :)

Meet Ariel....again!  :)  This gorgeous gal was actually my first official high school senior that wasn't a relative or the friend of a relative.  As a photographer, in the beginning, I worried about not getting enough good images.  I didn't have the confidence, then, to rely on my knowledge and skill, and I frequently doubted myself.  Because of that, I would shoot....and shoot....and shoot.  I think Ariel's high school senior session was about 7 hours long and I'm not even exaggerating!  And luckily for me, she just rolled with it and looked stunning the entire time.  We ended up with amazing images of her and I have always thought that she is partly to thank for my success since then.  People saw the photos of her and contacted me for their sessions.  And now we fast forward to the present and she is graduating again, this time from college.  When she contacted me for senior portraits again, it was unexpected, but definitely a good surprise!  Our session was not 7 hours long this time, not even close!  But in true Ariel fashion, she looked as stunning as ever!  Congratulations, Ariel!!  Wishing you all the best in whatever lies ahead of you!!  :)

~ Baby Ellie ~ Indianapolis area Newborn Photography

Baby portrait sessions always make me happy.  Not only do I get to take pictures, but I get to spend time with these gorgeous little beings.  Nothing in the world is more precious that a sweet, sleeping baby.  Today was no exception!  Beautiful little Ellie is actually the daughter of a former senior gal of mine.  She is almost three months old and, oh boy, did she come prepared to stay awake as long as she could!  And every time I got close to her and talked to her, she would give me this adorable little grin, almost as if to say..."lady, this is never gonna happen."  LOL  But, after a lot of rocking and bouncing, she drifted off to sleep and I got to work!  The sleeping didn't last long, but luckily it was long enough.  And then it was active baby from there on out.  Good thing she is super cute, because I have a feeling she is going to keep her mommy very busy once she gets moving!  Look how pretty she is!!  :)

New props always make me happy!

Nothing causes more boredom for a photographer than shooting the same old thing time and time again.  So, it's always fun to freshen up the prop closet with new items.  This is a setup I will be using for a baby session tomorrow and I can't wait!  :)

Baby Jack is 1 year old!

It's so hard to believe how fast a baby's first birthday comes.  It feels like you wait so long to finally meet them and then suddenly they turn one and you wonder where that first year went.  I am sure this little guy's mommy feels that way.  It seems like just yesterday when I was photographing him as a sweet, sleepy, snuggly newborn.  And now here he is, chattering away, showing off those new teeth, standing on his own, and walking a few steps at a time!  It's amazing the things that happen in that first year!!  And this little guy's session was extra special to me because his mommy is the angel that delivered our baby girl almost two and half years ago!!  My how the time does fly!!
